Each year UCW coordinates the Christmas Gift Appeal
for the Wodonga region on behalf of the welfare agencies in the
city. Gifts are received from a variety of retail outlets and
business organizations, with a major distribution day organized in
week prior to Christmas.
Although the Christmas Gift
Appeal is coordinated by UnitingCare Wodonga, this is the one major Gift Appeal
in the city that is supported by all local agencies including St Vincent de Paul
and Salvation Army. Any local agency is welcome to refer people and
families for gifts.

This
program has been run in Wodonga for many years. It shows that the
spirit of giving to others at Christmas is alive and well. Many
businesses became involved either by direct participation,
discounting prices on extra gifts purchased or by collecting
donations for the appeal.
